Perched high above a northwest lake over a sensitive steep site on twelve deep piles, the residence’s lower opaque side faces a busy road with a ribbon of glass clerestory. A high open series of spaces and decks under a long roof face the lake, Cascade mountain and territorial views. A suspended steel deck entry leads to a walk through the house, cantilevering toward the view. Open interiors, green roof decks, and sliding glass walls bring the valley and water below into the house while the architecture minimally impacts the delicate site.
