Ilse is originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, and has long been passionate about spatial design and the creation of spaces that foster a deep sense of belonging. Her desire to design environments that connect people to their roots led her to pursue a career in architecture, with a particular focus on residential design.
Ilse earned her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Texas Tech University. She then moved to Seattle to continue her academic journey, completing an MBA at Seattle University and a Master of Architecture at the University of Washington.
With over six years of professional experience, Ilse has worked across a range of residential scales, beginning with multi-family housing before finding her true calling in single-family home design. Her work is guided by a simple but powerful goal—to create spaces that feel like home in every sense of the word, where people feel rooted, seen, and connected.
Outside the studio, Ilse is an explorer at heart. Whether she’s wandering through Seattle neighborhoods, globe-trotting, cooking something new, or chasing a finish line on a bike ride or run, she brings curiosity and energy to everything she does. She shares her adventures with her husband Karl and their side-kick cat Zaha.
