A modern home cut into the side of a Colorado mountain, SkyMeadow builds space and drama under a single sloping steel roof. Oriented to southern views and adjacent landscape courts, one and two–story spaces are defined by the roof’s multi-directional pitch lending close, intimate, scale and soaring drama to the volume under the same plane. Lower down the mountain and supporting the main shed are a garage/work structure and a guest/exercise retreat. Glass, weathered steel, fiber-cement panels and natural wood clad an expressed heavy steel and wood structure.
